About the company

The House of Madame JoJo has been a locals' favorite restaurant in Long Beach, California since 1994. Modeled after a bordello by the same name in London, England, the ambience is decidedly sexy. The shimmer of candlelight against copper panels in the dining room adds to the intimate atmosphere, as does the large dimly lit chandelier, and the original art collection known as “The Bordello Suite.”

The artwork, selected for the restaurant at its inception, was created by artist Sharon Montgomery. Ms. Montgomery spent time in two European Bordellos: one in Belgium, and one in Munchen, Germany. In Germany, she was allowed to spend the afternoon drawing. The sensuousness the artist felt during those experiences comes across in the artwork she created using various art mediums. About a dozen pieces of art hang in the restaurant, showing the artists' interpretation of the commaraderie between women in the bordellos. The woman are beautifully painted in various degrees of dress, whether they're receiving a massage from a friend, or painting another woman's nails, and sitting amidst this artwork, makes one feel sexy.

The music is perfect – a romantic mix that changes often, and includes new artists playing old familiar favorites, French techno-tango tunes, old artists crooning songs that get everyone in the mood, and some nice surprises along the way.

This unique dining room has only twelve tables, and is definitely worth visiting! It's a great place for an intimate dinner for two, a marriage proposal, or a party of up to forty five, and everything in between. Unique and sexy, you may find yourself wearing a feather boa by the time you're served dessert!

The House Of Madame JoJo serves dinner from Tuesday through Sunday from 5:30 p.m. Throughout the year, The Madame hosts special events, including Five Course Wine Dinners, Meet the Models Night, and other fun special events. Be sure to be added to the email list, so you won't miss out! (See Gallery page for recent photos of people having fun.) Reservations recommended.
